FINN 130    INTRODUCTION TO FINANCE AND BANKING:

Main concepts of finance and banking, the banking system, the financial and banking institutions, kinds of financial institutions, financial tasks in the organization, financing in organizations, brief look at the financial markets.

FINN230     FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:

Introduction to finance, working capital management, profit planning, financial planning, the cash budget, short term financing, ratio analysis.  Prerequisite:  Accounting130 . 

FINN 231    FINANCIAL MATHMATICS:

Introduction to financial mathematics, simple and compound interests, equal payments, redemption of bonds, depreciation of fixed assets, calculation of stocks, bonds and preferred stocks value, insurance payments and calculating Islamic investment results.  Prerequisite:  Math235 . 

FINN232        THE MANAGEMENT OF SHORT-TERM FINANCIAL RESOURCES:

The role of capital, inventory management, policy of payment on credit and debt collecting, liquidity analysis, managing relations with banks, monetary forecasting, money markets, management of short term investments, strategies of short-term financing, management of international monetary inflows. Prerequisite: Finance230 . 

FINN 233    INSURANCE:

Types of insurance, insurance contracts and policies, risk identification and measurement, claims settlement, and insurance management, reinsurance, financial analysis of insurance companies. Prerequisite: Finance230 . 

FINN 234    FINANCIAL AND BANKING LEGISLATIONS:

Rules and regulations for finance and banking,  central-bank law, banking laws, general credit rule, rules for monitoring foreign currencies, exchange rule, investment promotion law, other financial and banking rules, and laws.  Prerequisite:  Finance230 .

FINN 330    Advanced MANAGERIAL FINANCE:

Financial management for corporations and their problems, cost of capital, capital structure, capital budgeting, dividend policy, leasing,, sources and uses of funds, financial derivatives; mergers and acquisitions, LBOs, reorganization and liquidation.  Prerequisite:  Finance230 .

FINN 331    CORPORATE FINANCIAL ANALYSIS:

Analysis of corporate financial resources, securities exchange, risk decisions, funds management, financial problems, and portfolio management.  Prerequisite:  Finance230 .

FINN332     MANAGEMENT OF FINANCIAL INSTITUATIONS:

Definition of the financial institutions, duties of the central banks, financial rules and laws, managing the financial and banking institutions: commercial banks, development banks, Islamic banks, universal banks insurance companies, pension funds, mutual funds leasing companies;  new trends in the financial service institutions.  Prerequisite:  Finance230 .

FINN333     COMMERCIAL BANK MANAGEMENT:

Introduction to banking systems and organizational structures; banking services and investments, credit management; sources and uses of funds in commercial banks.  Prerequisite:  Finance230 . 

FINN334     MANAGEMENT OF ISLAMIC BANKS:

The history of Islamic banking, modern Islamic banks, functions of Islamic banks, the balance sheet and income statements of the Islamic banks and their analysis types of deposits, fields of investment, the relationship of Islamic banks and the central banks, the future of Islamic banks Prerequisite:  Finance230 .

FINN 335    MARKETING OF FINANCIAL AND BANKING SERVICES:

The difference between marketing a service and a product, the history of bank marketing and marketing strategies of banks, market research, service, pricing, distribution and promotion strategies of financial and banking services.  Prerequisite:  Business Administration237 .

FINN 336    CREDIT ANALYSIS:

Definition of credit analysis, cash flow analysis, financial ratios and conditions; evaluating the firms industry and management conditions and principles of loans, credit risks, tools of facing credit risk.  Prerequisite:  Finance333 .

FINN 430       FINANCIAL MARKETS:

Money and capital markets organized market and over-the-counter market, financial instruments, bond, stock and derivative markets, future and option exchange; the government role in influencing the financial markets.  Prerequisite:  Finance330 .

FINN 431       INVESTMENT MANAGMENT:

The objectives of an investor; investment decision making; the strategies, policies, financial markets and tools of investment; choosing an investment portfolio, risk diversification, financial instruments, and investment analysis. Prerequisite:  Finance 330.

FINN432        INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:

International monetary system and financial markets, financing international trade;  international credit analysis, international credit risks; accounting exposures, operating exposures, international commercial banks.; financial management of global firms; cash management in multinational firms.  Prerequisite:  Finance330 .

 FINN433        PERSONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:

The concept and importance of personal financing, managing and planning of personal financing buying, selling and private investment decision making, personal saving and financial planning. Prerequisite:  Finance 230.

 FINN 435       BANKING STRAEGIES:

The commercial banks, relationships with central bank and other banks borrowing from banks and it’s cost; measuring the benefit of dealing with banks.  Prerequisite:  Finance332 .

 FINN436        MANAGEMENT OF INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS:

Analysis of investment risks, return and risk; the objective of the investors, barriers to investment, policies, structure, control and evaluation of investment portfolios, management skills.  Prerequisite:  Finance330 .

 FINN 437    SPECIAL TOPICS IN FINANCE AND BANKING:

Studying of special topics in finance and banking, which are chosen, based on the interest of the instructor and the needs of the students.  Such topics can be presented as seminars with the participation of students.  Prerequisite:  Fourth-year standing and the approval of the department.

 FINN 438       SEMINAR IN FINANCE AND BANKING:

Studying of special topics in finance and banking. In addition to having the students to prepare a report and to be trained in one of the financial institutions in Palestine. Prerequisite:  Fourth-year standing and the approval of the department.
