Conditions for Entry to the Economic Department
In order to join the department student has to :
- Finish each of the following courses with a grade not less than 70%:vEconomics (130) ,Economics (230) ,mathmatics (235) .
- The permission of the department: the students are selected in a way that depends on the capacity of the department as it is decided by the department council, the sequence of the grades, and the averages of the students applying to the department in the courses mentioned above.
Single Major in Economics
In order to achieve a Bachelors degree in Economics the student has to finish the following courses:
- 33 credits of Economics after finishing the prerequisite cources mentioned above; these 33 credits must include the following courses (331), (332), (335), (338), (339), (437).
- 6 credits of Accounting minimum after finishing the prerequisite courses in accounting.
- 6 credits of Business minimum after the prerequisite courses of Business.
Minor in Economics
Any student of the faculty can get a minor in economics after finishing 18 credits of economics successfully with an average of less than 70%; the 18 credits must include the course numbers: (331), (332), (335), (336), (338) or (339), (431) or (432).
Business Prerequisite Courses
- Introduction to Business Adminstration (130)
An introductory course that covers the following the types of the business firms, fields and tasks of business administration the business effect on the society, the definition of the administational, financial, accounting and economic concepts.
- Principles of Administration (230)
An introductory course that covers the following: contents of administration, adminstational skills, taking decisions, handling problems, administrational tasks
Prerequisite: Business (130).
Acounting Prerequisite Courses
- Financial Accounting I (231)
Introduction to accounting, business transactions and the accounting cycle, trial balance, measuring income, the balance sheet, and closing entries, treatment of sales purchases, cash, inventories payable and receivable plant and equipment.

Financial Accounting II (232)
Introduction to accounting principles, accounting for partnership corporations, bonds payable and other long term liabilities investments, cash flow, statement and financial ratios. Prerequisite: Accounting (230)
