Headlines

 

  • 74% support the current truce (where Palestinian factions have declared a halt on attacks against Israeli targets).

  • 61% support a renewal of the truce for another 3 months.

  • 78% believe that Israel will not abide by the truce.

  • 27% evaluate the Prime Minister’s performance as (good); 34% as (fair), and 28% as (weak).

  • 79% say that the Israeli Government is placing obstacles in the face of the new Palestinian Government.

  • Another 56% say that the new Government is facing internal obstacles.

  • 73% support the conduct of legislative and local elections.

  • A majority (over 55%) will not vote for the current members.

  • 77% support a legislative council based on proportional representation.

  • If elections were held now, Islamic groups (including Hamas and Islamic Jihad and independent Islamists) will get about 32% of the vote, Fateh will get about 29%, and the leftists will get about 7%.

  • Over 83% support a constitution that guarantees equality between Christians and Muslims, and men and women.
