The Faculty of Engineering was established in 1979 offering a baccalaureate degree that would require 5 years of study. Situated in the Omar Al-Aggad Engineering Building, the Faculty has the second highest enrollment on campus (link to facts and figures) with over 1000 students registered in one of its four departments: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Architectural Engineering. Together with the Faculty of Graduate Studies, the Faculty offers a Master’s Degree in Water Engineering. Faculty Requirements
The
Department of Civil Engineering offers an undergraduate program leading to a
degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with concentration in one
of the three areas offered – Structural Engineering, Water and Environmental Engineering, and
Transportation and Highway Engineering. Students
are admitted to the department after the successful completion of the first
year Faculty requirements. The Department of Architectural Engineering offers a Bachelor’s of Science degree with concentration in one of the two areas offered: Architectural Design and Architectural Planning. The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers a Bachelor’s of Science degree with concentration in one of the two areas offered: Energy or Design and Production. The
Department of Electrical Engineering offers a Bachelor’s of Science degree
with concentration in one of the three areas offered: Communications,
Computers and Control and Power Engineering.
Graduation RequirementsA student must
complete 160 credit hours to graduate. Listed
below is the number of credits needed to major in each department.
