The Department of Architectural Engineering offers a program of study leading to the Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering. Admission Requirements: Students are admitted into the Department after fulfilling the following requirements: 1. Completion of the following faculty requirements with a cumulative average of not less than 70% : Mathematics 131,132, physics 131, 132 and Mechanical Engineering 121. 2. Successfully passing the Audio-visual Capabilities Exam. 3. Consent of the Department. Requirements For The Major: Completion of the following sets of course with accumulative average of not less than 70%: I. Thirteen credit hours from Civil Engineering Department: - 210 Surveying Laboratory/ I. - 220 Surveying / I. - 223 Mechanics / I. - 323 Mechanics / II. - 336 Reinforced Concrete. - 532 Project Management. II. Three credit hours from Mechanical Engineering Department - 430 Sanitary and Mechanical Engineering. III. Three credit hours from Electrical Engineering Department : - 330 Lighting and Acoustics. IV. Seventy Three obligatory credit hours from the Architectural Engineering Department : - 221 Descriptive Geometry. - 222 Perspective, Shades and Shadows. - 223 Visual Communications/ I. - 224 Visual Communications/ II. - 225 Architectural Presentation. - 227 Design/ I. - 232 Design/ II. - 234 History of Architecture/ I. - 235 History of Architecture/ II. - 236 Building Constructions/ I. - 237 Building Constructions/ II. - 301 Field School in Local Architecture. - 321 Working Drawings/ I. - 322 Working Drawings/ II. - 323 Theories of Architecture/ I. - 324 Theories of Architecture/ II. - 331 Computer Aided Design/ I. - 334 History of Architecture in Islam. - 341 Design/ III. - 342 Design/ IV. - 401 Practical Training - 431 Environmental Architecture. - 433 Principles of Planning/ I. - 436 Landscape Architecture. - 442 Principles of Planning/ II. - 451 Design/ V. - 520 Introduction to Graduation Project - 530 Graduation Project V. Twelve concentration credit hours from the Architectural Engineering Department V.1- Completion of nine obligatory credit hours from either Architectural Design or Urban Planning concentration courses: V.1.1- Architectural Design Obligatory Courses: - 412 Seminar in Architectural Design. - 539 Interior Design. - 551 Advanced Architectural Design. V.1.2- Urban Planning Obligatory Courses: - 413 Seminar in Urban Planning. - 535 Community Architecture. - 553 Advanced Urban Design. V.2- Completion of three elective credit hours of elective courses in one of the following two concentration groups: V.2.1- Elective Courses for Architectural Design: - 531 Theories of Architecture/ III. - 534 Computer Aided Design/ II. - 539/1 History of Art. - 537 Special Topics in Architectural Design. V.2.2- Elective Courses for Urban Planning: - 532 Principles of Planning/ III. - 533 Housing. - 536 Geographic Information Systems. - 538 Special Topics in Urban Planning. VI. Courses offered to Other Departments: - 339 Building Constructions (for Civil Engineering Students).
