The Electrical Engineering program combines the analysis and design of electrical and electronic circuits, communication systems, mechanisms for automated control of processes, signal processing and electrical power generation and delivery. Moreover, advances in modern medical instrumentation, made by electrical engineers, have contributed to the welfare of mankind. And it is difficult to consider a sector of the economy and society where the work of electrical engineers is not important.
Integrating modern science with practical applications is the core of
advanced technology, particularly in electrical engineering.
Electrical engineers are involved in all areas of today’s information
society. The advancement in modern technologies - such as the
Internet, mobile communication, high performance computers,
The curriculum offered by the Department of Electrical Engineering teaches sound engineering principles and an ability to apply these to the solution of problems. This is done through emphasis on practical problem solving, design capability, and laboratory work along with team projects. Some flexibility is provided through a choice of departmental electives in the different areas of electrical engineering. The aim of
the department’s teaching program is to produce graduates who are
adequately prepared to enter and continue to practice in the field of
electrical engineering. The program integrates skills acquired in a
diverse set of courses to achieve the following for the Electrical
Engineering graduate:
The Department aims to establish a research program in contribution with the leading companies in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Hi-Tech fields. Of particular interest are the following areas:
