Admission And Strategy

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers a program of study leading to the Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Admission Requirements:

Students are admitted into the department after fulfilling the following requirements:

  1. Completion of the following faculty requirements with a cumulative average of not less than 70% : Mathematics 141,132, physics 141, 132, and Mechanical Engineering 121.
  2. Consent of the department.

Requirements For The Major:

Completion of the following sets of course with accumulative average of not less than 70%:

(103 credit hours).

I. Twelve credit hours from Mathematics Department:

- 231 Calculus and Analytic Geometry.
- 234 Linear Algebra.
- 331 Ordinary Differential Equations.
- 330 Introduction to Numerical Analysis.

II. Three credit hours from Civil Engineering Department:

- 233 Mechanics of Material.

III. Fourteen credit hours from Electrical Engineering Department :

- 211 Basic Electrical Engineering Lab.
- 231 Introduction to Electrical Engineering.
- 331 Probability and Engineering Statistics.
- 410 General Electrical Machines Laboratory.
- 430 General Electrical Machines.
- 337 Digital Logic & Computer Systems.


IV. Three credit hours from the faculty of Commerce and Economics:

- 337 Engineering Economics.

V. Fifty five obligatory credit hours from the Mechanical Engineering

2. Completion of six elective credit hours from the concentration elective courses or from the other concentration courses (at least 3 credits from student concentration).
