On April 20, 2006, IALIIS held a symposium dealing with “The Palestinian Diplomacy in the Next Phase: Challenges and Prospects” at the Best Eastern Hotel in Ramallah. Mr. Abdallah Abdallah, Mr. Mahdi Abdul Hadi and Mr. Marwan Jilani participated in the activity that was attended by university professors, students and by many of those who are interested. The speakers talked about several issues revolving around the current political situation, the Palestinian diplomacy under siege and techniques for dealing with this environment in order to maintain the Palestinian diplomatic achievements in the Palestinian national work. Several milestones of the Palestinian diplomatic achievements have been reviewed, up until the realization of recognizing the Palestinian Liberation Organization internationally. Moreover, manners that should be adopted to maintain and improve these achievements under unipolarity and the lack of balance of powers were also discussed.
