with Birzeit University Library have organized a workshop entitled:
Online Databases for Scientific Research and Electronic Teaching", on March 6, 2010
40 participants attended the workshop (faculty members, students and librarians).

Training Sessions Attended by Library Staff

Noor Khadir, Randa Abdallah, Eman Jiryes, Jamal Al-Austah, Abd al Munem Shalabi and Sa'adeh Sa'adeh had participated in "Bilad Alsham Symposium" which was held in AL-Najah University on Thursday, 3-12-2009.

Sulaiman Musallam has joined a course on "Library Science & Information" which was held by The Jordan Library & Information Association in the period from 14/06/2009-21/07/2009 in Amman-Jordan.

Abdallah Suleiman, Omar Zaben, Nisreen Samara, Sawsan sharkasi had participated in a course about Excel in the period from 16/02/2009 to 30/03/2009.

Library Director has participated in the first eIFL board meeting in London from 30/01/2009 to 03/02/2009

Taghreed Shihadeh has participated in a course held by continuous learning - Birzeit University -Ramallah on "Proposal Writing" in the period from 03/02/2009 to 13/03/2009 for a total of 24 training hours.

Last visits:
One requirement of the library Award from UNESCO/IFAP (Information For All Program) is to prepare a step-by-step guide reflecting the library experience in using Linux Terminal Server (LTSP) to run the old computers in the library lab, and disseminate it locally.
The library has paid visits to all university libraries in the West Bank to market its experience with Open Source System, they were as follows:-

Monday 13/7/2009: Visiting the university libraries in northern Palestine to include: AnNajah University, Arab–American University, and the Technical University of Palestine (Khadoori).
AnNajah university library hosted the meeting from 11:00-2:00.

Wednesday 15/7/2009:
Visiting the university libraries in southern Palestine to include: Bethlehem University, Al-Ahliya College University, Hebron University, and Polytechnic University.
Polytechnic university library hosted the meeting from 11:00-2:00.

Wednsday 22-7-2009:
Visiting the University Libraries in Central Palestine to include: Al-Quds, and Al- Quds Open University Libraries.
Al-Quds university library hosted the meeting from 11:00-2:00.

A copy of the LTSP guide will be send to Gaza University through Al-Quds Open University.

The BZU Library has also initiated a gift and exchange program with all universities for the benefit of users and researchers.
