The Library has organized its annual bookfair to sell all old, weeded and duplicate books. This was for three days from Monday-Wednesday 10-12/12/2007.
General Meeting
A general meeting was held on Tuesday 10/07/2007 for library staff to discuss future plans for the library.

The Library has displayed the newly received publications which are about 2000 titles in the group study area between 25 & 26/04/2006.

Book Fair, October 2006
The Library has displayed the newly received publications in the group study area between 16 & 17/10/2006.
Arabic Book Fair
The Collection Development Department had organized a book fair to display all arabic books
purchased from Cairo during The International Book Fair in Jan. 2006.
There were a round 1550 books displayed.
This event took place between Tuesday & Wednsday 2,3/5/2006.
Series of technical meetings regarding library computerized system
A series of technical meetings was held in the Main Library in regard to M2L application by Miss Yusra Aby Ajamieh
between Wednesday 8/3/2006 and Wednesday 15/3/2006 and Tuesday 28/3/2006
in cooperation with the Law Institute Library.

The Main Library has organized a 25 hours course on:"Library of Congress Classification System".
the Trainer was Mr. William Kopycki from the University of Pennsylvania-USA.
Participants were catalogers from Birzeit Univesity libraries, AL-Quds University,
Bethlehem University and AL-Haq Institute.
Workshop on :"The Reference and Information Services"
The Main Library has organized a one day workshop on :"The Reference and Information Services".
it was conducted by Mr. William Kopycki-University of Pennsylvania-USA.
this was on Saturday 3/12/2005.
The attendees were from the Main Library and its Branches, AL-Quds University and AL-Haq Institute.
Launching of the World Bank Public Information Center at BZU
Birzeit University, represented by President Dr. Nabeel Kassis and the World Bank, represented by Mr. Nigel Roberts, Country Director for the West Bank and Gaza signed a memorandum of agreement on June 16, 2005 to establish a World Bank Public Information Center (PIC) at the Yusuf Ahmed Al Ghanim Main Library at Birzeit University.
The official launching of the PIC took place with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a tour of the facility and a reception for the guests which included the University council, the Director and staff of the University Main Library, directors of the various University branch libraries, and representatives from a number of local and international research and development organizations.
Workshop on EBSCO database
Birzeit University Libary has organized a workshop on the use of "EBSCO Database". This was on 21/5/2005, and conducted by Mr. Nasser Saleh from AED( The Academy of Educational Development).
34 attendees joined the workshop; librarians, teachers, students, researchers and representatives from Al-Quds University Library.
The 5th Book Fair 2005
The Main Library has organized its 5th bookfair for selling duplicate and weeded books (New & Old) at reasonable prices for The University Community, Faculty, Staff and Students. This was between 16-19/05/2005. Several people have visited the bookfair from both inside and outside the University.

A course on Indexing and the Use of Thesauri
A course on " Indexing and the Use of Thesauri " was conducted by the Library Director Mrs.
Diana Sayej-Naser, and attended by 18 staff members from the Main Library and its branches.
This was between 21-28/10/2004.

The Main Library has organized its 4th bookfair for selling duplicate and weeded books (New & Old) at reasonable prices for The University Community, Faculty, Staff and Students. This was between 27-29/05/2003. Several people have visited the bookfair from both inside and outside the University.

Library Staff Contribution to Palestinian Society Under Seige, June 2002

Due to the Israeli on-going military actions (which denies BZU staff to reach the University) and the blockade of the Surda road, and as part of our contribution to the Palestinian society and institutions, BZU Main Library Staff have helped the Al-Haq special library in Ramallah in fixing their Card Catalog and other library materials that were damaged during the Israeli incursion in April 2002.
