Admission

The Department of Mathematics offers program study leading to Bachelor's degrees with major in Mathematics and Mathematics applied to Economics.

Requirements for the admission to the Major of Mathematics (60 Credits):

  In order to be considered for acceptance in program , the student should have:

 1-An average of 70% or more in Math 141,142.
 2-A grade of 65% or more in both Math 141,142.
 3-Department Approval .

 Required Courses:(51 Credits)
 Math (42 Credits) 220 ,231, 233, 234, 330, 331, 332, 333 , 334 ,337, 338, 339, 411, 431, 432.
Stat (9 Credits) 231,331, 332.

 Elective Courses: (9 Credits from the following):
 Math 335, 439 ,430, 434, 435, 437, 438 .
 Comp 234.
 phys 231.

Free elective (18 hours).
College ( 29 hours).
University (21 hours).

Minor in Mathematics (24 Credits):

 Required Courses:(21 Credits)
 Math  220, 231, 233, 234, 331 ,333 , 337 , 411.

 Elective Courses: (3 Credits ):
 Any other subject from Math Department .

Requirements for the admission to the Major of Mathematics applied to Economics
      (67 credits):

  In order to be considered for acceptance in program , the student should have:

 1-An average of 70% or more in Math 141,142.
 2-A grade of 65% or more in both Math 141,142.
 3-A grade of 70% or more in Econ 131.
 4-Department Approval .

 Required Courses:(58 Credits)
 Math (21 Credits) 231, 233, 234, 331,  333 , 334 ,336.
 MAEC (19 Credits)  332, 333,  334 , 339 ,411, 434, 436 .
 Econ ( 12 Credits) 131 ,132 , 3321 , 3322.
 Stat ( 6 Credits) 231 , 332.

 Elective Courses: (9 Credits from the following):
 Math 337, 339, 431,433, 435.
 MAEC 430, 431, 432 ,435, 438 .
 Econ  434 ,438 ,439 .

Students must finish at least 3 hours from MAEC courses.

Free elective ( 11 hours).
College ( 29 hours).
University (21 hours).

Minor in State (24 credits):

 Required Courses:(18 Credits)
 Math  220, Stat 231, 331,332, 334 ,411 , 431.

 Elective Courses: (6 Credits ):
 Any other 6 Credits  from  state courses .
