LIBRARY/ RESOURCE CENTER

Since its establishment, the Institute has developed and continuously expanded the library and resource center specializing in books, periodicals and documents.  The holdings include policy documents, reports and data issued by major international and Palestinian institutions such as the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics and UNDP, books and materials on gender and development, texts on feminist theory, and books in selected areas such as social policy, education, and the economy, in both English and Arabic.  Current library holdings comprise 2700 books in Arabic and 1370 books in English.  The library subscribes to 12 Arabic and 15 English periodicals, and also holds a small collection of audiovisual resources.

The Institute continues to develop its library, and is encouraged by the increasing volume of users from other departments at the university and from outside the university. Library staff emphasize assisting students to locate and use materials on gender issues, and a significant portion of the time of the library staff is devoted to working with students.
